The House of Silver Bowls

There are many silver bowls of all shapes and sizes scattered throughout the House.  The photos above are just a few of them.
From the top: A bowl that my family gave to Richard this week sits on a black console table in the front Living Room.  Nuts and olives are often served in two small bowls on the red wine bar we keep set up in the Great Room.  A large simply designed bowl sits in front of a book-filled case in another part of the Great Room.  Two bowls are nestled among dinnerware above the refrigerator freezer unit in the Kitchen.  I keep a beautiful small bowl, that I have had for years, on the table by my bed.  Two more bowls sit in one of the bookcases in the front Living Room.

Eggs of Gold in a Kitchen of White

Our good friend Chris, gave us these three adorable egg cloches.  We immediately gold-leafed some eggs to display in them.  They sit on the kitchen counter that we use to store all of our white ware and utensils.

All of the cabinetry in the Kitchen was designed and built by Bobby with a little assist from me.  The large silver meat dome is one of Richard's collection.  I love this one in particular.  It is a great size and the handle is beautiful.  The drawing is one I did years ago of a good friend.  The pie will be gone before I finish this post...

Guest Room No. 2

We tend to have quite a few out-of town guests visiting us.  Because of that, we decided to add a guest room onto the house.  This week, Bobby finished the new guest room.  He, of course, did an amazing job on it.  Once it is furnished and decorated, I will post some photos.

Since the project began, we have been looking at images of guest rooms to get ideas for decorating it.  Here are just a few favorites we found while searching on the internet.

Profile Painting in the Living Room

These photos of the Profile Painting were taken in a corner of the Living Room.  This is a painting that I did a number of years ago and yet still remains one of my favorites.  I have always felt that it is one of the best executed paintings I have ever done.  I truly do love it and it looks great in the black and white Living Room.

The black and white photos are part of Bobby and Richard's collection and the fantastic large ginger jar is one of a pair.

Profile Painting
The acrylic on canvas painting measures 24"W X 48"H.  In the custom black wood frame the piece measures 34"W X 58"H. Pricing and shipping information is available at http://www.etsy.com/listing/95782842/profile-painting

One Crazy Week at the House

It has been a crazy and busy week here at the House since my last posting.  A lot of work has been done on the House, four out of town guests came to visit (delightful!) and there was an unfortunate incident with the boat and rough seas.  Needless to say I have been a bit distracted, but I promise to post in the next day or so.  I hope you all are well!
